A Home for Women, Somewhere in the Sun
Women’s Co-living in Sri Lanka
Somewhere Sisterhood is a home for women – somewhere in the sun.
We offer a community villa in Ahangama, Sri Lanka, where women from around the world come together to live, connect and feel at home. Whether you stay for a week or several months, you’ll find your own room, new friends and a supportive space that feels like family.
My Story
Somewhere Sisterhood was born out of a simple wish: to feel at home, even on the other side of the world.
I know the struggle – hostels can be loud, crowded and offer little privacy. Homestays, on the other hand, can feel lonely and isolating. So I asked myselves: what if there was a place in between?
A home where every woman has her own private space, yet still feels part of a supportive community. A safe and inspiring environment where you can choose when to join in and when to retreat. A space created by women, for women – to live together, share and feel at home under the Sri Lankan sun.
That’s how Somewhere Sisterhood began: not just a villa, but a community.

Meet the Founder behind Somewhere Sisterhood
I fell in love with Sri Lanka and after countless stays in homestays and hostels, I longed for something more personal.
Back in Germany, I had always loved living in shared flats – and I missed that warm, supportive feeling abroad.
That’s why I started the first Sisterhood villa: a place where I instantly felt at home.
The experience was so special that I decided to continue this project, so that other women can feel the same sense of belonging while living abroad.

I came to Sri Lanka on my own and somehow ended up feeling right at home with the Somewhere Sisterhood girls 🌴💛 From eating together to beach walks and sunsets…it was all just so easy and so good. Already missing those vibes 🌞

I came to Sri Lanka with no plans and no place to stay, but the girls from Somewhere Sisterhood made it feel like home from the very beginning. 🌸✨ From little morning chats to evening aperols, they created the best vibes and always brought people together.
It’s always such a gift to have people around when you’re in a new spot on your own. Even the simplest things, like sharing food or watching sunsets, felt so much more special.
Already missing it, and the magic of the girls’ villa is something I’ll carry with me for a long time. 🌺💛

I stayed the first weeks near the bussy road of Ahangama. So I was searching for a calm place, with just the sounds of nature. Now I wake up with the sounds of birds, monkeys and wind trough the palmtree leaves.
When i return home, i feel free to have a talk or just say hello and take some time for myself, there is no pressure. Thats how the good energy stays alive

I met the girls behind Somewhere Sisterhood during my stay in Sri Lanka, and I have to say — they were some of the best people I met along the way 👯‍♀️
We had a great time at the Villa, full of laughs and good vibes. I can’t wait to go back! Love you, girls!
